If FE7 operated on Tellius-style weapon mechanics, she’d only need to find a Silver Blade (or forge an Iron Sword) and she’d be fine. Her Con (6 after promotion) hinders her here it’s too low to equip high-rank weapons without dropping her speed significantly. If you keep her well-equipped, it doesn’t become that much of an issue until endgame, but you really start to miss her earlygame dominance when you hit lategame. Lyn also has a tendency to get Str-screwed. It’s circumstantially useful, mostly on indoor maps when firing over walls, but she’s better off with magic swords. The additional speed is great, but there’s not really any reason for Lyn to use bows, since she has to use low rank ones pretty much right up until endgame. Um, her promotion….isn’t really that great. That’s all that matters in her case, as she’s definitely designed to dodgetank (like most characters people have asked about so far). I don’t really like her support options as much as I like other characters’, like RebeccaxDart, for example. She’s easy to train, and you get a free pass to use the Mani Katti as you please all through her chapters, since it returns with full uses when you continue into Eliwood/Hector mode, meaning effectiveness bonuses everywhere and a lot of crits. How anticlimactic.įor the rest of the game, though, Lyn is one of my favorite units on the field. Her “ultimate” weapon isn’t even particularly special, or rather, it’s so ridiculously heavy it’s not really worth using. Lyn, the first character you come into contact with in FE7, and the one with bizarrely little plot relevance by the end.
